On these hot days when it feels like 100, it is not safe to be outside for long. But the heat doesn’t change the need for children to jump, run and climb. What to do? At Amazing Grace Early Learning Center in Oxford, we solved that perennial Florida problem by incorporating an Activity Room into our new building. It is equipped with basketball hoops, balls, scooters, climbing equipment and lots of safe padding. Movement contributes to children’s learning skills and at our Center, thanks to the Activity Room, that happens every day. In addition to the free play that happens in this room, daily lesson plans for children ages 6 weeks to 5 include specific movement activities that focus on improving children’s brain development and getting their eyes, hands and fingers ready to learn to read and write.
Our curriculum also includes literacy, math, social skills, science, and lots of music. We enjoy Jesus time each day and look forward to Wednesdays, when we get to go to chapel.
If you live in or work near Oxford, Wildwood or The Villages, our location (4886 CR 472 in Oxford) is super convenient. We are open 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. We do accept children who receive assistance from the Early Learning Coalition of the Nature Coast. Our 2019-20 Preschool and VPK (Voluntary PreKindergarten) classes will begin August 12, but if you can’t wait until then, we have some space now, too!
