Blessing of the Animals

Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages will again offer its 7th Annual Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, October 15th, at 10 a.m. This celebration recognizes the important role that pets play in our daily lives. Registration will begin at 9 a.m.All pets on leashes or in a carrying case are welcome to receive a blessing. Those with photographs of an ill or now-departed pet and children with stuffed animals are encouraged to attend as well.

This is a free event given as a gift to the community by Hope Lutheran Church, and all are welcome. Monetary donations can be made to the Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County, helping to enable them to continue their volunteer work in helping end animal suffering locally. There will also be a collection point for attendees to bring donations of pet food, blankets and towels.Each registered owner will have the opportunity to have a photo taken with each pet. A special gift will be given to each pet, as well.
