On Saturday, September 24, 2011, South Sumter High School NJROTC "A" Team took 3rd place in the North Port Air Rifle Match in North Port, Florida. South Sumter NJROTC entered 3 Teams and 2 Individuals in their first Air Rifle Match of the 2011-2012 school year. Each participated in Prone, Standing and Kneeling events. This is the Rifle Teams first trophy with this years new Rifle Team CO Michael Comstock and new Rifle Team XO Samantha Millett.
