Ms. Hubbard is the Membership Chairperson fro the Marion County unit. Mr. Conley brought us up to date on the status of the Foundation and encouraged us to seek out high school seniors who are interested in the teaching field and inform them of the available scholarships given by the local unit and the state.

Committee reports were given by the following members: Finance - Horton Barnes; Cultural Affairs - Lillian Spyies and Jackie Gardner; Community Service - Laura Shuyler; Literacy - Dorothy Ganey; 5th grade essay Contest - Mary Simmons; Sunshine - Ed Tomberlin; Health - Jackie Gardner; Scholarship - Patricia Newell; and Membership - Marilyn Barnes. After the business session the members enjoyed a soup and sandwich buffet coordinated by Laura and Larry Shulyer.

The next meeting, which is open to all retired school personnel, will be on March 1, 2012. We will meet at 10:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church, Bushnell. For more information, contact Glenn Stephens at 568-2852 or Carolyn Stephens at 793-8374.
