The Wildwood Wildcats won their fourth game of the season in dominating fashion against St. John Lutheran on Jan. 30 at home. This win broke an eight-game losing streak for the Wildcats.
The Wildwood Wildcats came out hot against Lake Mary Prep, but couldn’t hold on in the end to get the win.
The Wildwood Wildcats boys’ basketball hosted three games at home, all ending in losses. The first game was against Hope Academy on Jan. 22, followed by North Marion on Jan. 24 and South Sumter on Jan. 26, to close out the week.
It’s a full-circle moment for Lorenzo Fields - a 1985 Wildwood High School graduate, now head football coach of his alma mater.

Wildwood Wildcats boys’ basketball came out sluggish after the holiday break against The Villages Charter School and suffered the largest defeat of the season. The Buffalo won 63-20 on the road to win and sweep the season series.
The Wildwood Wildcats boys’ basketball team fell to the South Sumter Raiders on the road 74-42 on Jan. 12. Following a huge loss against The Villages Charter School the day before.
The Wildwood Wildcats fought to the very end against Zephyrhills on their home floor but lost 49-46 on Dec. 21.
The Wildwood Wildcats boys’ basketball team took the fight to the bigger Villages High School early in the game but couldn’t maintain the energy and lost 86-42 on Dec. 15 at the VHS gym.
Wildwood Middle High School won big against St. John Lutheran on Dec. 8, 60-22 to win the first game of the season.
The Yellow Jackets (2-1) defended home basketball court on Dec. 5 with a 62-27 win over the Wildcats (0-4). The cross-town rivalry game had the gymnasium bleachers full for the storied match-up.
After 15 years as The Villages SC, a local soccer club will now be Brave SC.
While Broc Kinley would love to see his college team earn some accolades, what he would like to achieve in the sport is to become a coach.

It didn’t matter who was on the receiving end of the take down last weekend, it was a win-win for all the kids at the Lake Pan Wrestling Club Youth Tournament. The event served as a showcase of what the kids are learning each week and as a fundraiser to help purchase more mats.
The Raiders had a slow start and fell behind early last Friday night, but ended up breezing past the Mitchell Mustangs with a 42-10 South Sumter win.
The Cats came out firing on all cylinders last Friday night, scoring 11 TDs and 12 points on conversions in totally shutting down Akelynn’s Angels Christian Academy, 78-0.
SSHS 9th Grade Student Jackson Sovercool and Cody Zilcosky were presented with weightlifting state championship awards prior to the Raiders’ game time on Friday, Sept. 2.
