Planned Pethood Cares is a non-profit, low cost veterinary clinic in Lake Panasoffkee. Formerly known as the Cares Center, Planned Pethood Cares is under new ownership. Cindy Evers and Amber Burgess are a mother and daughter pair who have been in this business for a number of years. They were given the opportunity to take over the clinic in February 2019. Since they believe the best way to deal with the pet overpopulation crisis is through spay/neuter – they jumped at the chance to open the community clinic.
The duo also run Planned Pethood in Zephyrhills. They have been in business there for close to 10 years and are proud of the work done by their clinic for the people and animals of Zephyrhills. The mission of Planned Pethood Cares is to provide the same affordable, high quality care for the dogs and cats of Sumter County.
Located at 735 E. County Road 470, Lake Panasoffkee, Planned Pethood Cares is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It provides low cost spay/neuter, vaccinations and wellness services. Appointments must be made for surgery or dentals, but the wellness/vaccination clinic is on a walk-in basis from 9am – 3pm. Additionally, Planned Pethood has many heartworm and flea/tick products available. More information can be found on their website: www.plannedpethoodcares.com or give them a call at 352-568-9994.
