On Tuesday, March 13, Diane and David Munson, authors of family friendly factional fiction, will be the featured speakers at the meeting of Joyful Hearts, a senior saints ministry of the First Baptist Church of Bushnell.
They are a spousal duo writing family-friendly suspense novels based on their challenging careers in the U.S. justice system. Their novels are called “factional fiction” because they are inspired by fictionalized events and themes from Diane’s career as a Federal Prosecutor/Attorney and David’s career as a Special Agent with NIS (now NCIS), and undercover Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). As an undercover agent, he infiltrated international drug smuggling organizations.
After a millionaire drug-dealer wrote a memoir that became a movie staring Johnny Depp, Diane Munson decided the good guys wearing white hats should be the ones to write memoirs. A former Federal prosecutor, she asked David, a former undercover DEA Special Agent, to join her in writing about David’s arrest of Johnny Depp’s character in Chicago and other criminals in what the Munsons deem “high velocity suspense”. Now, this husband and wife writing team reveal the thrills of back alley deals and legal drama in their intriguing suspense novels.
The meeting for which there is no charge begins at 11:30 with a luncheon and concludes no later than 1:30 PM. The church is located at 125 W. Anderson Avenue in Bushnell. If you have any questions, please call Helen at 352-793-8987.
